Boston Day One

It’s birthday week and we are spending it in Boston.  It took me forever to decide on the location, but I made the right decision because Boston is FABULOUS!  We arrived to Boston really late Tuesday night because of Tropical Storm Hermine.  Hermine decided to invade San Antonio and cause flight problems there and in Houston.  Of course our first stop out of San Antonio was Houston.  We finally made it out of the state and into a state where the weather is amazing.

There is no humidity here which does wonders for my hair!  Yesterday we started the day with the Freedom Trail.  I told James it was somewhere around 17 miles and I didn’t want to walk the whole thing.  He could decided what the most important parts were and we would hit those.  He looked it up and said it was 2.7 miles.  I reminded him last time I walked the Freedom Trail I was 8 so it felt like 17 miles.  We decided to walk most of the trail and half way through I remembered why it felt like 17 miles.

The Old State House

After a long day walking around we headed to the ballpark.  I was so excited about the game.  I got even more excited once we walked into  Fenway Park.  This is my new favorite stadium!  I am not sure what it is about the stadium.  It is small and very cozy.  The isles are very narrow and the seats are small.  This really bothered me at old Yankee Stadium.  I love that there was no netting in front of our seats.  We sat in front of the visiting team batters box, five rows up.  AMAZING seats!  The hot dogs were delicious and it was a very eventful game.

This isn’t the best picture, but it is really hard to explain to a very nice lady from Memphis how to expose for the face and not the background.  Oh well, you get the point that we were at Fenway Park.

Mr. Longoria you are a wonderful third baseman and you look good doing it!

We got to see Big Papi bat.

And hit a homer over the Green Monster!  This was the game to go to.  The final score was 11-5 so there was lots of action.  We saw six homers and three of those were over the Green Monster.  It was a really fun game!

Big Popi points to the sky after he hits a homerun to honor his mother who was killed in a car accident in 2002.

In between the eighth inning and the ninth inning “Sweet Caroline” was played.  The entire crowd was singing along except for James.  The crowd even added in the bum, bum, bums and the so good, so good, so good.  Love it!

Our first day was awesome.  I found my new favorite stadium and can’t wait to go back!
